WHY THE TENT?

Fumigation is the process of removing wood destroying organisms in a structure. Usually, the termites, beetles or other organisms dwell in an area that is inaccessible to a professional termite inspector. Spot treatments are often unsuccessful in removing such pests from these areas. However, fumigation treatment reaches every nook and cranny in the structure and kills the harmful wood destroying organisms.

WHAT'S HAPPENING?

The fumigators will carefully cover your home to create a sealed environment. Vikane® is then released into the structure and begins permeating the walls to kill and destroy any infestations. When the fumigation process is complete, the fumigators will aerate the structure. All of the doors and windows are opened to do this, and the fumigators will use fans to ensure the removal of high concentrations of gas.

AM I READY?

There isn’t a lot of preparation you have to do for a fumigation. During your initial consultation, your inspector will review with you will need to be done. To make sure you’re 100% ready, we’ve made a checklist you can use. Safety is of top concern.

CAN MY FAMILY GO HOME?

A fumigation will last 18 to 24 hours, and the building will remain sealed. Once your home aerated, the fumigators will measure the levels of fumigant remaining in the structure to ensure that it meets EPA regulations for safe re-occupation. At the time of certification, the fumigators will post a notice with the time and date that it is safe to reoccupy the structure.
